Half Day Tour

Are you short on time but high on expectations? Why not take a trip on one of our luxury half day tours where there is no compromise on quality? We have options to start in the early part of the day that will allow for any plans that you may have later, or alternatively, we have afternoon options if it suits you better.

Our first half day tour is an opportunity to take in some spectacular scenery as we take a beautiful circular route around central Scotland. Leaving Edinburgh, it’s not long before we are out of the historic city and travelling North West towards the gateway to the highlands. We will drive into Stirlingshire where we will pass the site of the Battle of Bannockburn, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument on the way.

Our distillery visit is at the beautiful and historic Glenturret Distillery This is renowned as the oldest working distillery in Scotland and is steeped in history. Both the visitor centre and the brand itself have just undergone a stunning makeover whilst retaining their traditional look of the distillery setting as well as the distillation methods where modern techniques have been largely ignored with everything in the production process still carried out using the distillers’ unique skills. They have a superb range of whisky options that regularly win awards in the whisky industry. These are created under the watchful eye and amazing skills of renowned whisky maker Bob Dalgarno. You can tray few samples at the end of the tour, and they really are a treat.

After our tour we will meander through the Scottish countryside on our way to Perth. Then it is South and we begin to make our way back to Edinburgh. On our way, we will pass through Scotland’s fantastic countryside before we cross the recently built Queensferry crossing. This will give you a chance to see the world heritage site of the Forth Bridge and the Forth Road Bridge alongside as we cross the river.

Soon afterwards we are back in Edinburgh and our final stop of the day. Johnnie Walker Princes Street (Opening summer 2021) is a spectacular homage to Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky and commands a prime site on Princes Street in the heart of Scotland’s capital. There are 8 floors of retail space, whisky experiences, events and tasting opportunities for you to explore at your discretion and leisure. Your tour ends here and you are free to explore JWPS or continue your onward journey as you prefer.

Alternatively, you may want to consider our second half day tour which is a whisky and gastronomic delight. Our tour takes us to the beautiful Glenkinchie Distillery in East Lothian. This distillery is set in the stunning countryside in East Lothian and is truly stunning in design. You will be taken on a tour of the distillery with a chance to see the full whisky making process and discuss in detail with an expert guide and of course, some tasting along the way.

On our return journey we will drive along the magnificent East coast road as we head back towards Edinburgh. This a fantastic route back, with unspoiled views of Scotlands East coast beaches and views out to the Firth of Forth.

Uniquely, this tour also takes in a stop at a highly recommended restaurant, either for brunch or lunch depending on the time of your tour. Here you have the option to eat in the restaurant or you may decide that you would like to spend some free time exploring the area before we make our way back into the city. The choice is yours.

Once again, back in Edinburgh and our final stop of the day.
